The first ever International conference on Mathematical Modeling, hosted by the Research & Development Center for Mathematical Modeling, Department of Mathematics, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. The conference was partly sponsored by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Program) partnership program and with few other collaborators, the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Kathmandu University, Nepal and Institute of Technology Bandung, Indonesia. The modelling week consisted of a number of workshops conducted by academics from the partnering universities and local experts also participated in this modelling week to make it a success. The Cell handled the financial aspect of IFMM.
